Role

We are seeking a friendly, competent and well-organised permanent General Practitioner. This role has nine to ten sessions per week with on-call of 1:6.

The GP needs a can-do personality and likes to work in a practice that is busy and well organised. You will be a team player with good communication skills who likes to work with staff who are helpful and competent. The GP provides emergency care, but the very sick/injured are flown out straight to the base hospital.

The practice has a cheerful and relaxed atmosphere and is staffed by two other General Practitioners, four Nurses, and a Social Worker. There are approximately 3000 enrolled patients with an average of 24 patients per day (per GP). The patient demographic is mainly Maori 74%, so if you are prepared to learn a new culture then this is the perfect role for you. The practice is in the Cornerstone accreditation programme.

Benefits

The practice will contribute to your travel, relocation and immigration costs. A house is provided which is fully furnished, insulated and has the lawns/garden taken care of. A vehicle is also provided.

The Medical Council registration and medical indemnity costs are also paid for. The practice allows staff to specialise and upskill in their areas of interest.
