Role

An opportunity is available to work on beautiful Waiheke Island. If working in a practice where the location has been rated the fifth best destination in the world appeals to you, then look no further.

We are currently seeking a friendly GP for a permanent placement. You will be working with other GPs, in a warm supportive environment. The role has six to eight sessions per week, with participation in a 1:6 weekend roster. 

Practice

This practice has five consultation rooms, one procedure room, two treatment rooms, and one administration room. Laboratory and pharmaceutical services are located close to the premises. 

Possibility to work in our sister clinic which is marae based clinic providing primary healthcare and social services. It provides GP clinics which are supported by nurse clinics and a range of multidisciplinary clinics, including AOD, social services and counselling services. This service is delivered through a kaupapa Māori model of health.

There are around 3200 enrolled patients, but during the summer months the population can increase to 35,000. The island is a very popular tourist destination, along with numerous travellers from overseas on working holiday visas.

Waiheke Island is a national treasure located in the beautiful Hauraki Gulf, 18 kilometres from Auckland, and the second largest island in the Gulf. Home to historic sites, wildlife and diverse habitats, the island is an important part of New Zealand’s landscape. Known as a region for its many wineries and vineyards, Waiheke offers a relaxed lifestyle and friendly community. Auckland City is only 35 minutes away by ferry (departing every half an hour), where there are all the attractions of city life.
