This privately owned, purpose-built surgery requires a General Practitioner to join a team of five GPs and working between seven and eight sessions per week with one late night (until 6pm) every 5/6 weeks.

Currently the practice has approximately 7,500 registered patients. The patient mix is predominantly Pakeha (European), along with Maori and high needs patients.

Each GP sees, on average 25 to 30 patients each day, with each patient attending 15 minute-appointments.  In addition to this, there are also Nurse-led clinics run within the practice.

You will be supported by eight practice nurses, seven part-time receptionists and a practice manager.

Tuakau is conveniently located just 60 minutes south of Auckland.  Although a small town, Tuakau has become famous for its cafes, art gallery and welcoming ambience.  It has all regular services such as banks and pharmacies.  You can play golf, visit the Franklin Zoo, buy locally grown fruit and vegetables or visit the ‘Nikau Cave’, Franklin's very own limestone glow-worm cave.

There are two primary schools, Tuakau School and Harrisville School (Tuakau School’s most famous pupil being Sir Edmund Hilary!). There is also Tuakau College, a joined intermediate and high school.

Pukekohe, the nearest larger town is located a 10 minute drive from Tuakau. It was also the home town of All Black legend Jonah Lomu.
