Hauora Hokianga Health is seeking a committed General Practitioner to join their friendly team. The practice is located in the small town of Rawene, on the shores of the Hokianga Harbour. This role is full time with an on call ratio of 1:6. The package includes a rent free house, a vehicle for use during work, six weeks annual leave, generous provision for sabbatical leave, and payment of various professional fees.
This practice provides integrated primary health care services (medical, pharmaceutical and some oral health services) to the people of Hokianga at no cost to the patient. The practice has approximately 6,500 patients, with each General Practitioner seeing on average 20 patients a day.
You will be located three hours drive north of Auckland, which is the largest city in New Zealand. The climate is sub-tropical (known as the “Winterless North”), the environment beautiful, with numerous beaches and small bays and many forest tracks and coastal walks.
The shallow waters around Rawene become mud flats at low tide and feature beaches of mangroves. A recent addition to the town is a boardwalk to take you on a tour through the picturesque landscape. This makes for an enjoyable walk, especially after enjoying lunch or dinner at one of the local restaurants or cafes.
