 • Sea lover’s paradise

This practice is looking for a General Practitioner to join their friendly team. We are ideally looking for a GP who can work 6 to 8 sessions per week with a share of Saturday morning clinics of 1:8. There is also on-call shared requirements at the Bay of Islands hospital of 1:26.

You will see an average of 25 patients each day in 15 minute appointments.  Surgery hours are 8.30am to 5.30pm, Monday through Friday.  Saturday morning clinics run from 9.00am to 1.00pm. As this is a stable practice, they are seeking a GP who is willing to make a long term commitment to clinic and area.

This purpose built practice has approximately 18 consultation/nurse rooms and 8000 enrolled patients. The practice runs a walk in clinic, which is covered by the GPs on a rotating roster.  A full time pharmacy is open in-house.  The seven general practitioners are supported by seven practice nurses, three receptionists and a practice manager. The practice philosophy is to work as a team to meet their objectives, and staff are very supportive to each other and to new team members. Nearly all the current GPs are fellows of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners.

Kerikeri is the main centre of the Bay of Islands in Northland.  It is regarded as an aquatic playground with 144 islands, and hundreds of secluded beaches! The region’s subtropical climate, with mild winters, means a wide range of outdoor activities can be enjoyed all year. Included are yachting, diving, snorkelling, swimming with dolphins, and fishing. Big game fishing, especially for marlin, is among the best and golf and archery is also available at the local range.
