Start date:
July 2017

 • Work with a fantastic team
 • Two weeks accommodation provided
 • Beautiful mountain scenery

A permanent General Practitioner is wanted to join this fantastic team.  The GP will be working around four to five days per week with no on-call requirements. If you have good communication, able to relate well to people and will adapt well to a rural environment, then this is the right position for you. Also if you have an interest in minor surgery then this would be a great advantage to you.

This rural practice has a wonderful team of five General Practitioners, a Practice Manager, practice nurses, office administrators and receptionists.  The practice will provide two weeks accommodation so you can settle in easily, and will possibly contribute to your travel costs.

The practice services approximately 8000 patients with an older demographic.  Appointments are around 15 minutes per patient, with daily numbers flexible– up to 30 patients per day. Surgery hours are Monday – Friday, 8.00am to 5.00pm.

Hawera is the second-largest town in the Taranaki region with a population of around 11,700. It is near the coast of the South Taranaki bight. If you enjoy a rural lifestyle, beautiful mountain scenery, surfing within an hour away then this region will definitely appeal to you. The bigger cities of Whanganui and New Plymouth are only one hour away.

You can enjoy Hawera’s art galleries, parks, movie and performance theatres in the town centre. Further from the town is the sports, events and function centre, the TSB Hub. This town has affordable housing, and has all the schooling facilities you may need with a primary school, intermediate school (years 7-8) and a high school (years 9-13).   Most visitors come to Hawera to visit the Tawhiti Museum which features life size figures created from moulds cast from real people.
