Putaruru is a friendly farming and timber town with a population of 6000 people. It is located in the centre of the North Island, 45 minutes from the thermal wonderland of Rotorua, 40 minutes from the beautiful beaches of Tauranga, and 2 hours from the ski fields of National Park. Our 18 hole golf course is one of the best in New Zealand and there is trout fishing for the keen angler. If walking is your passion you can discover the magic of Mount Mangatautari, our unique inland pest-free native reserve, or you can stroll along the river trails that border the Waikato and Waihou Rivers.
Our medical centre is purpose built and includes an onsite laboratory as well as visiting Diabetes Nurse Educator, Mental Health Co-ordinator, Osteopath and Podiatrist. The available position is 9/10ths and you will see an average of 20 to 25 patients per day. There are regular peer review meetings with the three permanent doctors and collegial oversight is available, as is the opportunity for vocational training. If you are interested in committing long-term to the clinic you may be able to buy into the practice. A fully furnished home of very high standard will be provided for the first year and the rest of the remuneration package is negotiable.
