This idyllic, country practice requires a permanent full-time General Practitioner to replace their existing partner, or if preferred, join the team as a part-time GP (hours are flexible). You will be supported by one GP, 3 nurses and a further locum who provides relief cover and some weekend on-call duties. The rural hospital is conveniently located next to this practice, featuring 7 beds and a birthing suite.
Akaroa is nestled in the heart of an ancient volcano which is sea-bound on three sides. The village was first sighted by Captain Cook but in the 1800s a group of French settlers considered this to be a fine place to call home. You will find that many of the streets here have French names. The city of Christchurch is only 75kms from this lovely town that has so much to offer.
The charm of this town includes colonial architecture, galleries, craft stores and cafés. Spend the day in Tree Crop Farm which is a span of 60 acres covered in wild gardens, a top attraction in the Lonely Planet Guide. The Banks Peninsula Track includes 35kms of spectacular volcanic coastline where you can discover waterfalls, enjoy penguin watching and even go kayaking.
