Seeking a General Practitioner to work eight sessions per week (negotiable). The ideal candidate is cheerful, easy going and a team player who values the skills and experience of their colleagues.  You should also have excellent communication skills, and enjoy a semi-rural area which is close to the city.

This large clinic is owned by 10 shareholder GPs. The practice now employs 14 long term GPs and two locums. They have a large support team of nurses and health care assistants, with twice the amount of nurses as GPs. There is excellent colleague support and GPs are able to cover each other’s patients when on leave.

The practice has a registered patient population of 19,800, and GPs see an average of 24-26 patients per day. The population includes young, elderly and families, with around 10% Maori.

The staff treat illness, but a major part of their focus is to take the focus off acute care, and promote and work towards wellness, with a holistic model of care.
