Tararua Medical Practice is located in the heart of Levin and is situated in a rented, purpose built building for general practice. It consists of two sets of doctor’s rooms, a nursing station, a reception area, Practice Manager’s room, computer room, and a lounge for tea and lunch. The practice is well equipped with each room having diagnostic sets, BP machine and more.
The practice operates with two FTE General Practitioners who are supported by two Practice Nurses, two Receptionists and a Practice Manager. The practice is fully computerised using the Houston VIP patient management system.
The practice has around 3,600 registered patients with on average 35 patients seen by each GP every day in ten minute appointments. Surgery and office hours are 8.00am to 5.00pm weekdays only. After hours are 5.00pm to 8.00pm weekdays and 8.00am to 7.00pm weekends. The on call ratio is 1:9 weekdays and 1:5 weekends.
The closest base and local hospital, that provides a full range of tertiary services, is at Palmerston North, 50 kilometers away. The Ambulance service is located near the Practice and provides full paramedic and trauma services.
Tararua Medical Practice is looking for an experienced General Practitioner to join their practice on a permanent basis. The GP is expected to earn a desirable income, working 9/10ths a week. Vehicle and accommodation assistance negotiable.
