Bulls Medical Centre is located in the centre of town, close to primary schools, kindergartens and several colleges within a 30-minute radius. The practice is situated in an old Post Office building with recent extensions built to accommodate two more consulting rooms and a new procedures room. The practice is well-equipped and has minor surgery facilities.
The three General Practitioners are supported by four Practice Nurses, two Receptionists and a Practice Manager. External services such as; Specialists, General Surgeon and Orthopaedic Surgeon are also used when needed.
The practice has 4,000 registered patients with anywhere between 30 to 60 patients being seen by each GP in 15 minute appointments every day. Surgery hours are 8.00am to 12.00pm and 2.00pm to 5.00pm Monday to Friday. There is one late evening per week until 7.00pm. Office hours are 8.00am to 5.00pm. The on call ratio is 1:5 weekdays and 2:5 during the weekends. The practice uses the Medtech 32 computerised patient management system.
Palmerston North Hospital is the local and base hospital, which is located 20 km away from the practice. The Good Health Wanganui Hospital is located 30 km from the practice. This is a new 181-bed secondary hospital, in Invercargill city. A range of services are provided from both Hospitals including acute medical and surgical, outpatient clinics, day procedures, 24-hour emergency department, comprehensive ancillary facilities including laboratory, medical imaging diagnostics, specialist paediatric, maternity, rehabilitation and therapy services.
Bulls Medical Centre is seeking an experienced General Practitioner to start as soon as possible for 12 months. A generous package is offered, which includes vehicle and registration assistance. Relocation and accommodation assistance is negotiable.
