South Island placements for overseas doctors

Dr Kathleen Driesen from Belgium and Dr Karl Erath from Australia attended NZLocums’ June Orientation course in Wellington before heading off to work in rural and urban practices (respectively) in the South Island. Dr Driesen will be based at Oamaru Doctors for 12 months and Dr Erath, originally from Germany, has a permanent role at Gardens Medical Centre, in Dunedin.

The three-day Orientation course provides a comprehensive introduction to the working environment in the health sector covering topics such as introductions to Pharmac, ACC, and Work and Income.
