Two of our relationship managers, Sarah Maguire and Sarah Fearon recently ventured out of the NZLocums office in Wellington to visit some of the rural and urban practices we work with in the Taranaki region, here’s what they had to say about their time on the road:
The two Sarahs visited several practices in Taranaki and saw first-hand what wonderful dedicated people the staff in these practices are. We visited Tui Ora Family Health in New Plymouth, Oakura Medical Centre and Opunake Medical Centre, before heading south to the Patea and District Community Medical Centre. At the end of day one having headed back to Hawera to stay overnight, we rewarded ourselves with a visit to the beautiful Waihi Beach Reserve, less than five minutes’ drive from Hawera. A beautiful rugged beach with dramatic cliffs provided a lovely chance to unwind after the hot weather we had for the day!
Day two started with a visit to Mountainview Medical Centre where we were able to meet one of the GP’s who had recently attended the NZLocums orientation in Wellington. It was lovely to see him in his new placement and fitting in so well.
It was then on to meet the Practice Manager at Avon Medical Centre where we were shown around their lovely big practice. We had hoped to meet up with another GP we had placed there in December, however she was on leave showing her parents the sights of Wellington!
Our last visit of the day took us to Moa Medical in Inglewood, a lovely little practice staffed by a dedicated team.
What struck us about all these practices, is that everyone we met was so passionate about not only meeting the needs of the population they serve, but exceeding their expectations and delivering the best primary health care possible.
